Its been exactly 365 days, since we registered Yulop WebSense Solutions Ltd, and to say it gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction when i look back at things which has been unfolded.

We at Yulop are a small team of Young turks looking to redefine the way things are done. To talk about its been, the new dimension added to get things more Local ; yes we foray into building Local business with a dream to take traditional values to a new level.

* Yulop Book’s has about 2500 Kannada books available for sale online, its a first of its kind to support the regional language and to empower the publisher to be Online, We do also emphasize in getting the contents from the literature world and is been recognized worldwide for the efforts
* Yulop has nearly 150,000 Business listings Geotagged fro Bangalore and other cities within India, we empower local business to make use of technology and to reach the mass through there products available Online and also with effective use of mobile subscribers.
* Yulop recently Launched CityEvents, a unique efforts to list all the events happening around Bangalore along with E-Ticketing and Geocoding each and every Venue of the events.
* Yulop launched LBS [Location Based Services] , a first of its service to give you best hotels, events,geo tagged news based on the location accessed via your Mobile phone, through this app, LBS can trace your location and based on it, it would give you the relevant listings around you.

Folks !! We are out with an Orkut App called “Bangalore Adda”. When you first hear about the name “Adda”,the first thing that strikes to your mind is a hang out,off course thats what we call it in our local language. You might just be wondering what is this Bangalore adda and how is it gonna help us in any way.

To start off with an Adda is a place where you first get to choose your own hangout where you guys and gals usually meet up.Once you are done with your Adda start inviting your friends to join your adda and you can also get in new friends to join in as well. Now that you got all ur friends you need a place where you could get all your edible stuff from to pass your time. Not a worry though, as we have made a provision for that too as you could find all the places in and around the adda where u could zip through in a minute and find a nice place where you could have ur dinner or why not,even a bhel puri wala,bajji corners and many more around the corner. Just create your adda,invite friends,set up a time and there you are.

There’s a lot more, as you could see YouTube videos ,geo images on the web and even the bus routes of Bangalore.. well isn’t that something new. If you see that something has missed out and would be worth adding it,then just pin it down and you have it rite there.You could also put in your own reviews regarding the places that you find interesting and sneak into others reviews and their viewpoints. We have released the CityEvents portal for Bangalore. With a lot of anticipation to this release we have set ourselves a strong vision of being truly local.

CityEvents is a dedicated portal for all the events and happenings around the city (currently Bangalore.)

You can search for events based on Area or your neighbourhood, based on the category of interest, based on the date and even with the combinations above. With the CityEvents our enduring commitment is that we are can create a platform where local events can be showcased and accessed.

A ‘jaatre’ to a wild party, an exhibition to a graduation day, sports to discount sales our users will be able to find them all. Also we have the subscribe option where in you can subscribe to the category/interest of events and we will keep you updates via SMS or mail!

When we look into our listing collections, its a herculean task to update this on a regular basis, now that we have opened up our channels, we are inviting our users/owners to update the listing through the Web.

We have made code changes to reflect the Edit button for every listing, once a user could accept and identify himself to be owner or a basic user of the business, they could go ahead and update the listings, with adding new tags [search becomes more efficient], updating the Location, phone number and also the Point of Interest on to the MAP.this would be monitored periodically by our content team and would be reflected on to the updated listing.

Well, after some thought process and relatively local thinking, GPRS version of Bangalore network sites is up for the grabs.We have implemented the essential need of GPRS for Cityfind [Local search engine] and to CityMovies[BETA] where you could view the current movie listings along with Theater information such as show timings is been implemented for the Mobile aspects we have also included CityEvents which gives you event information about current day and next day’s events in and around the city.

Its been long pending to get the GPRS site to be up and running and finally we have i ready

We are coming up with a path breaking Mobile feature with the use of Local information…..in few days

We are happy to get this through just-in-time! It was long pending, to get Cityfind on to a new look, to improve on the standards of relevant search and refinement options for each of the business listings. And now it’s done!

We must congratulate the content team for showing lot of momentum in pulling out the 50k listing mark very recently. Cityfind is tagged with AJAX for a sleek process and a brand new look.

To give you the picture how CityFind works well with refinement option, I have searched ” Dosa in Jayanagar”, the results could be much more filtered, with categories [fast food,south indian] where Dosa *keyword* would be found and further a second level of refinement for each category selected [ex: veg,parking].

Cityfind is very special indeed for the effort it takes to geo code each listing, eventually allowing the user to search the keyword based on the distance measured from the source point [in KM's].

We have been working very hard to make CityFind the perfect launchpad for every business listing, and thanks for all the support which is been rendered. Having said that we always look for your feedbacks and suggestions!

Its been a tough task to approach every restaurant,dry cleaner, garage, jewellery store to get them listed on Cityfind, but yet we have achieved the milestone in 3 months, with extensive coverage, Geo coding every listing on the map.

We at Yulop strive hard to get things moving ,we are in the verge of bringing in new technical features including the refinement tags for every category based search, all this and more in few days!
